why we need account detemination cat in service po but not in normal PO ?

Hi,

We procure material and make the same as stock item but for service we are procuring services from a contractor and once the job completed by them we are providing them job acceptance,so in this case there are no way to make the services as a stock item.

And account assignment helps you to book the cost/expenses as per the selected account assignment.

Hi,

For normal PO or standard PO, where you procure stock material and do GR by receiving material physically and stored in storage location.

But in case service, your vendor provides service to you and service here is an intangible material & as services cannot be stored, does not contain any inventory data. As we are not maintaining inventory data for service (which we are getting from vendor), so we need a account assignment category during service PO creation.

Hi,

you can find difference type of account assignments in system

F-Internal Order

K-Cost Center

A- Asset

N-Network

Once the account assignment is used in PO then the stock gets automatically consumed,so there is no seprate stock gets updated in system .And there is no need to make a seprated Goods issue for the same.

We can control the values of PO through budget controlling also.

Hi,

For any kind of non stock items or consumption purpose procurement we use account assignment category which inturn ask for the G/L account.Since service is a kind of consumption procuremnt we assign account assignment category.
