SAP Crew Visibility in PP Reports

Hello all,

I'm trying to figure out how to obtain visibility of crews vs. shifts in standard SAP-PP reports and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience regarding this.

Given the nature of the problem, it's a bit more difficult that simply setting up a shift schedule in the work center. Here's an example: on some days, Crew A works on the day shift, and on other days the same Crew A works on the night shift. So we can't simply run a report for "day shift" because Crew B and C could also work during that shift on some days.

What I'm after is the ability to see PP reports by Crew A, B, C, etc... regardless of what time (shift) they work.

Does anyone have any experience or ideas on how this can be done?

Thanks in advance for your advice,

Brendan

Are you working with shift based confirmations / reporting available in EHP 3 / 4 (provided you're working with ECC 6.0) ?

If not I think it would be worthwhile to have a look at that feature as it might just be the solution you're looking for (search in this forum to find many threads on it).

A good starting point would be:

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c0fa9a04-376a-2c10-c396-86d32ac80...

You would need to activate the business function, if you're not sure on that part, seek assistance from your basis people.

Alternatively you can also look at COOIS report with list option as confirmations (May not be a exact match for your need).

Another alternative would be to go for a Z report, data can be read from AFRU table.

Thanks for the reply, Vivek.

It looks like the the shift-based confirmation functionality will fulfill 90% of the requirement. However, it looks like a possible shortcoming is that a shift schedule cannot be mass-applied to work centers (e.g. if all the work centers in a plant have the same shift schedule).

For complex manufacturing operations, maintaining the shift schedule and subsequent changes in each individual work center is not feasible when there are thousands of work centers per plant.

Do you if there exists a way to mass-apply the shift schedule to specific work centers? Alternately, do you see any other ways this requirement could be accomplished?

Have a look at reference capacity (CR11). You can define the capacity & shift details in that & then assign this to the respective work centers. You can have one ref. capacity if its the same across all WC's or have a few & then assign the relevant ones (should help reduce the shift maintenance effort)

But the assignment of ref. capacity to WC is manual, can be automated via a BDC prog. or a LSMW. I haven't so far come across a FM or BAPI which can be used for mass assignment of ref. capacity to a work center, maybe someone from SAP can confirm if indeed BDC recording is the only option for this.

Thanks once again for a timely reply, Vivek.

CR11 will be able to accomplish the requirement. Thanks for your help!
