Sub-Equipment with serial Number in Superior Equipment

Hi Friends,

I have created a serial number profile for one of my equipment category which I want to use as Sub-Equipments. Now, we have one process called Corrective maintenance in which the user modify the superior equipment by changing its sub-equipments(For ex: Motor, Conveyor belt, etc.) now I want to see how and where this sub-equipments(which I have created as materials) are attached to equipments? I already issue this sub-equipment in my order with serial number and I want to see this sub-equipment in hierarchy to its superior equipment. Is there any standard method to do that?

Thanks for your response. You did not get my question. In the equipment structure tab I can see the equipment hierarchy but its only if I manually assign it to the superior equipment or assigning superior equipment to the sub-equipment.

My question is, I am issuing the equipment as material in a maintenance order and not assigning it in the structure tab is there any way to find out which serial number is issued to this superior equipment? and can this equipment as material be assigned directly to the superior equipment at the time of issue of that material(sub-equipment)?

You can check the material with serial number in Material Where used list report. Assigning that respective equipment to superior equipment can be done only using custom development.

Based on when you want to update that equipment in superior equipment structure, use the corresponding user exit. Use the BAPI BAPI_EQUI_INSTALL to install to superior equipment.

You can check the sub-equipments attached in structure tab of superior equipment. It will show only one level of Hierarchy. I guess, this is what you want. If not, please rephrase your question.
