Dear Friends,
I have a transport request in Dev system which is active. when i have checked in quality system , the request number is not showing as active version. so can i import the same request which some one created long back in development system.
thanks in advance
The transport request in Dev will show you whether the request was transported to the further systems.
I do not think that you can check it in the Test system.
Check if the request was transported or not and depending on that, you can either transport the same request or unlock the objects from the request (using SE03) and capture in a new request.

Hi
May be you are speaking about Modifiable/ Released state of transport request, if i am not wrong.
1. So if the request is released from DEV system , it can be imported into further systems.
2. If the request is not released then it will be in modifiable state. Please release it then you will be able to transport.
3. Active/Inactive versions is applicable to the objects in the transport request and it should be active before importing the transport.
Hope this helps

Sai

HI Jyostna,
For transport we don't have versions active and inactive. For transport we will have whether it is release or in modifiable state.
open SE01 in DEV system and give the transport number and enter. Then you can able to see whether transport is released or in modifiable state.
If transport is released then you can see the same in QA system and you can import.
if transport is in modifiable state then first release the transport and import the same in QA system.
to release the transport, in SE01 on menu bar you will have option. search it.

Hi,
I think you are talking about objects in the transport request.
So when you created the TR request the object was active. You made some changes those got saved. You released TR and you also found object inactive at the same time. So there is a possibility somebody modified the object post your TR moved to Quality system.
So you will just find some differences but object will be active.Latest changes if any you need to move through new TR request.
Thanks and regards
Kiran

First thing you need to consider is, what changes are collected in your request, are you planning to move the same to your traget system, do you know why it is left in Dev from long time, is there any dependency before moving this transport??
If you got correct answers then you can move to Q system, or if you are unsure about what is there in transport and you want to use this transport to be moved, then you may need to unlock the transprot by deleting locked objects and then collect the changes which you are planning to move.

Hi,
I think the TR has not been released to quality yet and hence it is not seen in the quality system.
You can go to se10/se01 and check if the TR has been released.
Hope this helps.

Hi
You cant check in quality system whether the transport has happened fine or not. First check in Dev system, if the transport is fine. If they are not good then you can request the BASIS people to re-import the same transport request. Re-import will be successfull only when if u have collected all depending objects for that object.
