Linking two dimension members

Hi,

We are impIlementing BPC Planning. Planning happens at Material Group Level. In our Planning Application we have a dimension (user defined) for Material Groups and for Group Accounts (i.e. Account Dimension). We wish to know how can we link the two dimensions (i.e. so that Group Account is derived when plan figures are entered for Material Groups).

E.g

Dimension for Material Group Dimension for Group Accounts

MG1 Group Account1

MG2 Group Account2

MG3

Group Account1 should be derived against MG1 & MG2. Group Account 2 should be derived against MG3. In the Dimension for Material Groups we have a Property for Group Account (i.e. we are linking a Material Group to Group Account)..However during the planning process (based on Material groups), GL accounts are not getting derived..

Please advise....

Hi,

If you use a function like:

=EVPRO("appname", "member name from the material group dimension", "property name")

This should fetch you the property value.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Where do we give this formula? In the Group Account Dimension?

Hi,

It is an excel based function. If you want to show the corresponding group, then you can use this formula in BPC excel.
