invalid value in 0RECORDMODE

Hi,

During activation of ODS after applying "Bex Reporting" flag error I get errormessage "Value N for characteristic 0RECORDMODE is invalid". Looking in table /BI0/SRECORDMODE there are no entries. The value "N" should be valid according to the datatype defined for /BI0/SRECORDMODE (CHAR 1) so I don't understand why the SID generation fails?

Why is 0RECORDMODE not available as ordinary infoobject in workbench?

Thanks in advance.

Peter

    Hi PR,

a few months back i was asking myself the same question that why the hell 0RECORDMODE is not available as normal infoobject. The reason is that its a Technical object delivered by SAP for building the Delta Qeues in BW and there can not be editted (or destroyed) by Customers 😉

Coming back to ur basic question, the BW should accept the value 'N' for 0Recordmode since it represents Image type 'NEW'. However it can be that the DataSource which is providing data uses a deltaprocessing type, which do not include the image type 'NEW'. Check the table ROOSOURCE in SE16 to findout what deltatype is delivered by the DataSource and if necessary correct the Deltaprocessing type there.

I hope i was able to help a little.

    Hi,

Have you used a standard ODS with standard transfer rules? If you did, I dont see any problem about 0RECORDMODE since it is handled by SAP.

For customized transfer rules and cubes, I just leave the 0RECORDMODE blank. It is working fine. BW somehow fills them up for you.

    Please provide more info...
