Change of Item Categoy in Sales Order - AFS

Hi Gurus,

I am working on AFS. In the sales order for which delivery has not been created, system is not allowing to change the item category. From TAN to TAQ.

I have maintained the Manual item category in VOV4. Still the item category field in sales order is in grey mode.

Please let me now how to make it editable.

Hi Chaitanya,

The item does not have any associated PRs and no subsequent document has been created for the item.

Still I am not able to change the item category.

Hi Naren,

Can you please check if that item has any associated Purchase Requisitions?

Standars SAP does allow change of item category if alternative item categories are configured and subsequent document are not yet created.

in standard SAP, i am able to change item category TAN to TAQ in a sales order in VA01. It gives me a warning message V113 (material not BOM material etc...) but I can change the item category.

check if AFS is any different or your company has had userexists , codes installed

Hi,

I think for BOMs and configurable materials, SAP won't allow you to change the item category.
