Hi Gurus,
I am using BPC NW version 7.5.
I am automating vendor master data for loading Ids in BPC dimension.
My BI infoobject (0Vendor) has no Hierarchy. It has only Member ids.Business Requirement is to populate Hierarchy as Defaulf as ALLVENDOR.
By using the DM in BPC i loaded Member ID sucessfully in the BPC Dimension.
Please guide me with steps for populating Hierarchy as Default (ALLVENDORS) in the Parent1 column in BPC dimension.
Thanks In advance.
Mahesh
Scott,
Mapping the hierarchy in the transformation file via PARENTH1=*NEWCOL(ALLVENDORS) gives an error message 'Hierarchy is not allowed to be created by mapping PARENTH1'. So I think the only way of maintaining default PARENTH1 values - besides loading from a hierarchy - is to populate it via the Excel BPC dimension maintenance. Which can be cumbersome, specifically if a lot of new members get added frequently to a dimension and the dimension sheet each time needs to be manually updated. The only other way I can think of is to create an ENDROUTINE BADI for this which I am not sure if it allows to populate PARENTH1.

Lars

Hi Lars,
You cannot use package created based on process chain /CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_HIER for your requirement. Either you have to use flat file method or try maintaining "ALLVENDORS" as a dimension member from Admin client and add PARENTH1 = *STR(ALLVENDORS) in the transformation file for attributes(package created based on proccess chain /CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER and leave Hier as blank in selections).

Kalyan.
Hi Kalyan,
Sorry if I wasn't clear: I am talking about loading BPC master data from BW via Package /CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER and for a scenario where the master data has no hierarchy. So if I want all members to default to a PARENTH1 value of e.g. ALLVENDORS this is not possible via direct mapping (ALLVENDORS is a dimension member). When mapping a hierarchy value with PARENTH1=*NEWCOL(ALLVENDORS) and loading the master data an error message 'Hierarchy is not allowed to be created by mapping PARENTH1' gets generated.

Lars
Hi Mahesh,
You need to populate the PARENTH1 field in your transformation file en route to the InfoObject. This should generate the 1 level hierarchy you want to.
PARENTH1=*NEWCOL(ALLVENDORS)
Or after you load without a hierarchy it is easy enough via the Excel interface to add this value for all members and reprocess the dimension.
Cheers, Scott

Hi Gurus,
Any suggestion for loading Default Hierarchy for Master Data?
Thanks
Mahesh
