Auto start sap system

We have created batch file with .bat extension for Auto Start SAP system(With out manual intervention SAP system should up and running usually we start using SAP MMC in windows) after that we added that .bat file into Task scheduler . Whenever we restart Windows system Central instance(Message+enqueue Sever) is active and running but Dispatcher(disp+work.exe) was seems down. Please some one help us to fix the issue.

    Hello,

The database must be up and running before the Dispatcher is started.

In addition, the ASCS instance must also be running already, or the Dispatcher will not start.

Confirm that your .bat file checks that and starts the Dispatcher only if those conditions are met.

    Isaías

Try using parameter AUTOSTART=1 into your DEFAULT profile instead a .bat file

    Hi Shiva.

You can create the either .bat or .CMD file in SAP system to stop & Start using the command to stop sap " STOPSAP.EXE" & to Start "STARTSAP.EXE"

    BR

    SS

    ,

    Hi

You can use the command to stop sap "STOPSAP name=<SID> nr=<SYSNR> SAPDIAHOST=<host> " and to start the SAP

    "STARTSAP.EXE name=<SID> nr=<SYSNR> SAPDIAHOST=<host>".

    Hi Shiva

During the startup you have to add two line of STARTSAP command one for Message server and Dialog instance. Kindly refer the startup string

    1. For message server - for example your message server number 00 - Startsap name=SID nr=00 SAPDIAHOST=sap hostname

    2. For Dialog instance - for example your message server number 01 - Startsap name=SID nr=01 SAPDIAHOST=sap hostname

Could you share your script how your are starting? and also SAP MMC snapshot.

    BR

    Hello Shiva,

You can use "R3trans -d" at your bat file. If it returns zero ("if %ERRORLEVEL% == 0") it means that the database is up and running.

You can then proceed to starting the ASCS instance. You can use "sapcontrol -nr XX -function GetProcessList" and if this returns zero you can proceed to start the DVEBMGSxx instance.

    Regards,

    Isaías

    Hi Siva.

    1. Could you share the your SAP MMC?

    2. During the starting first you have to start the Instance number 00 and then 01. I have tried in my ABAP system Message & Enque server instance number is 00 and dispatcher on 01.

    3. At the time of stopping the SAP system. first instance 01 and 00

    Regards

    Sriram

    Hi Sreeram,

Windows sever maintained by external team and we don't have access for SAP MMC and we got the above requirement from that team.

In my previous post I forgot to mention the instance details.

instance 01 consist of message server and enqueue server.

instance 00 contains dispatcher and ICM, Gateway, IGS Watchdog.

Whenever we start Windows server instance 01 is up and running but instance 00 is not running (except dispatcher other services are up and running).

    Regards,

    shiva Ravoori.
