    Hi,

In short, V3 gives performance advantage (doesn't load synchrounous V1). If your data doesn't need to be 'exactly in order' (in which it was posted in OLTP) then you can choose this option.

You can use it in all circumstances except the when the order of data records is crucial (eg a document record with a 'Status' field being loaded into ODS).

There was an excellent weblog you can locate in BW area, by Roberto Negro /people/sap.user72/blog/2005/01/19/logistic-cockpit-delta-mechanism--episode-three-the-new-update-methods

    This shall help more.

Due to technical limitations, newer PIs do not have the 'Serialized V3' anymore, it is either direct or queued delta or unserialized V3 that you can choose for you LO delta extraction.

    Hope this helps,

    cheers,

    Ajay
