Hi Craig,

easy answer: Yes, you can.

One simple reason is that NWDS is nothing but Eclipse (- some features + many new plugins/features; so it is no longer real Eclipse, but the platform is the same). And this of course can be run under Linux.

The other "reason": You can download it under service.sap.com/swdc - Installations & Upgrades - Entry by Application Group - SAP NetWeaver - SAP NewWeaver - SAP NetWeaver 04 - Linux 32/64 - <DB> - NW04 SR1 SAP NW DEVELOPER STUDIO 2.0. This is the SR1 = SP9 version, but it exists for every SPS.

Hope it helps

Has anyone tried DS on linux? Can you compare it to the Windows version?

Are there any plans to release NW Developer Workplace for Linux?

Thanks

I did not, but the thing is, it just looks as in windows as this is Java stuff just running on another platform.

You may have a problem with Webdynpro design, but I think even that has a solution.

I have downloaded the package, however I don't see anything different to the Windows version, and no linux install binary.

I didn't find any install guide for linux. The Testdrive version for last year describes using Crossover Office to run Dev Studio (ie. windows emulation). Is this still the only way to run under linux?

I just did the same thing, and noticed the same thing.

Any solution to this yet?

Thanks.
