Number Ranges Missing in table NRIV

We are trying to get a QA system off the ground, even though we have migrated all our master data infoobjects, there are very few entries in table NRIV. So the activation of the objects during transport did not automatically create number ranges for each object's SID as BW should be doing automatically..

Is there some kind of manual configuration step that we have to do or an ABAP program to run to start BW to automatically create number ranges in table NRIV

Are you getting an error 'R7048' in post processing after import? If so, OSS note 572591 might be helpful.

As I understand, there is nothing specific to be done to create the NRIV entries, everytime an infoobject is activated the corresponding entry is created there for the SIDs.

This problem might also be related to the fact that in BW you can use only one client and if you have created more than one client or set additional clients, it can cause such problems. There are OSS notes explaining this behavior, you may look into that if that is relevant for you.
