Dear Experts,
I have received a request to remove a button of SAP Standard Webdynpro Application.
What's the correct approach to such request?
In my opinion, since it's SAP standard program, instead of modifying it directly, I should look for SAP notes to see if there is a solution already provided by SAP to disable/hide it. If there is NO such solution, what should I do? Should I log a request to SAP?
Thanks!
Regards,
Wulumuqi Road
What's the correct approach to such request?
Graham has already provided you with the solution for your particular problem. Go to the layout tab of your view, enter the enhancement framework, right click "delete" the button (deletion can be revoked if needed).
What is the guideline to modify SAP Standard Webdynpro application?
Concerning your question in the headline. Modification is like using a sledgehammer, if you can avoid it, avoid it. Regarding WD4As, you can always use the enhancement framework and implicit enhancements in the methods of CCs, Views etc whereas you can alter everything in the layout coding-wise (since you can't do that with the layout editor).
Cheers, Lukas

Hi Wulumuqi,
although SAP tries to be standard software, SAP Standard Webdynpro Application.may be based on a couple of standards. If it is floorplan manager,. you can configure it. If it is BOPF business object processing framework, there is an own ehancement framework CUST_UI.
As in most applications, there is no common standard approach.
Post the name of the object you want to modify. That will make it easier to get an idea.

Clemens

Thanks very much experts!
I am here to understand the right procedure for modifying a standard SAP webdynpro application.
I received a request from functional to remove certain button of standard sap wdp app, in my opinion we need to go through certain procedure to ensure that what we are modifying is SAFE, and will NEVER impact others. For example, we shall do according to certain sap notes, or guidelines, to gurantee not losing SAP warranty.
Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!
Assuming you are talking about WDA - then you should use the Enhancement Framework to hide the UI element.
Cheers
