Question about parameter snc/identity/as

Good afternoon - I have a question about the parameter snc/identity/as . Should this parameter be placed in the instance profile or in the default profile of the BW system? I followed the installation guide for the SAP Intgeration Kit XI 3.1 SP3. I put it in the instance profile, which worked fine for my development system. But in QA and Production, I have an application server. Should I set this parameter the same in each instance profile, or should each application server have a unique value ? I am having trouble getting my aplication server to start when I try setting this parameter and I am not sure why.

Any advice or assistance is appreciated!

Regards,

Blair Towe

Hi Blair,

Have you checked your syntax is correct?

When setting the snc/identity/as the Application server's SNC name has to have a matching Distinguished Name. I.E. the Distinguished Name section must match the Distinguished Name that you specified when creating the SNC PSE

The way to set it when using an Application Server would be via RZ10 and then select the instance profile used by the server start-up.

Also ensure that you have set the profile parameter snc/enable to 1, as this activates SNC on the Application Server. If this parameter is set but the SNC PSE and credentials do not exist, then the application server will not start. Therefore, setting the SNC parameters should be the last step in the configuration procedure.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards,

John

The paramater snc/identity/as should apparently be set the same across all application servers for a system.
