Hi,

we define public holidays by using five types of public holidays....

.....with fixed date

..... with fixed day from date

..... Distance to Easter

...... Is Easter Sunday

...... Is Movable Holiday

Before defining the public holidays we need to know which holiday class is to be assigned for a particular holiday...

Blank means not a Public holiday .....Means Working day

1 means ordinary public Holiday ... ..ex . August 15th,Christmas

2 means Hlaf day Public Holiday ---It depends on the client requirement may be u can use this holiday for defining half day working day for an employee, half day holiday for particular occasion...

3 to 9 are customer specific......customer specific holidays ...ex.every year ur company is having one special holiday on Labour Union election day...

Initially u generate public Holiday calendar with three character key...then u will assign all those Public Holidays to Holiday Calendar by selectiong that 3 Character key...after that u will assign that holiday calendar to particular group of people

Come to Counting Rule for Attendances & Absences for quota deduction(t556c) :

Here in this table u will select all those holiday calasses which are apllicable to ur absence & attendances....

Holiday Classe plays a very important role for defining holiday Calendar...

Hi,

Public holidays are grouped into public holiday classes in SAP R/3 Human Resources. The public holiday class is used for the selection of time wage types, daily work schedule variants, day types, and for absence counting. In the standard SAP R/3 System, the public holiday class 1 is assigned to "ordinary| full-day public holidays and the public holiday class 2 is assigned to half-day public holidays.

There are 0-9 Public holiday classes.

You can use a value from 0 to 9 for the public holiday class; 0 or blank is used for days that are not public holidays.

Not all public holidays are treated in the same way.For example there are different bonuses assigned for working on different public holidays (Ex 1st May). If you want to treat this holidays differently, then assign a different holiday class (value from 0 - 9).

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Hi friend!

The meaning of Public Holiday Class is very important. Please go to t-code Sm31 or Sm30 then input table T556C

, you will the counting rule here. The counting rule is a necessary part for calculating Absence or attendance when you create 1 leave or attendance request in master data. If you don't want reduce Quota in which holiday class, just not check in this configuration.

And just have 10 holiday class from Null to 9.

If you want to check where counting rule used, please goto T554S on Sm31 or sm30. In counting rule, you will define what counting rule is performed. Thus please understand the grouping in T554S: just base on Personnel Subgrouping: u can check by V_001P_D. But in Counting Rule: there are 2 grouping: 1: Employee subgrouping: V_503_E & second is V_001P_D.

Hope it help!

To add to what Woody mentioned regarding absence counting, Public Holiday Classes can also be used to make decisions in PCRs, when all Public Holidays should not be treated equally.

For example, if an employee works on a Public Holiday, he/she may be entitled so additional remuneration (such as getting paid at 1½ times the regular rate or getting a special premium), but that rule may not be valid on a specific Public Holiday. In such a situation, the "special" public Holiday would be coded with a value different from the "regular" Public Holidays.
