S4H HANA - Webservice Catalog (External) not appearing in the FIORI Apps

Former Member

Hi Experts,

I am working on the S4H HANA system and using the FIORI apps for creating the purchase requisition, I have configured the external Catalog in the webservice and assigned those catalog in PPOMA for the FIORI user

When I logged in FIORI, I am not able to see those catalog IDs while creating the purchase requisition.

Please help me to check the settings for theses catalogs in S4H HANA system?

Thank you

Jairaj

Dear All

Use the App: Default settings for users (F1995) and assign the catalog to users and the Catalogs will display for the users.

This will automatically update the USER_CATALOGS Table. 🙂

Hello

Before you need to create/manage a supplier catalog, where do you do that

Thanks for your help

Part 1: To view catalogs in Fiori SSP PR tile, below steps are important.

1) Create employee using TCode PA30 and with communication (0105 infotype) user as user system ID.

2) Based on employee creation system should create through background program employee (person) BP with BP roles as employee, General, Fi Vendor.

3) With Tcode PPOMA - proper organization structure to be created. i.e. Company > Position as catalog manager

4) Assign BP to catalog manager.

5) define attributes at company level in Tcode PPOMA. These attributes should be inherited for position created under it.

6) Now most important part is > one of the attribute entered for company and inherited to position should auto flow in table "USER_CATALOGS" with an information a. Employee id b. web service id (web service has catalog URL)

7) based on successful event of point no 6, employee is able to view defined catalogs under Fiori SSP app of create PR tile.

Issues : most of the time PPOMA structure is not defined properly and attributes are not flowing to table "USER_CATALOGS"

Part 2: To direct catalog link from SSP PR tile to actual punch out catalog of Ariba

1) Need to define web service as per configuration guide

2) Security certificates to be verified and ensure that credentials provided are correct.

Issues: Catalog link doesnt open. Need to identify root cause of this issue.

Refers to 1909:

1) 1st misunderstanding: Values maintained for users/business partners/positions/org units in PPOMA do not flow to table USER_CATALOGS.

2) But if there is an entry in table USER_CATALOGS for a user, then this user also has access to the catalog.

3) You maintain table USER_CATALOGS directly using the "Default settings for user - Procurement" app for Admins(!) and not the default settings of the user. Both look identical, except in the app the catalog entries become editable (for admins).

I got with to work with PPOMA as well as with the app.

Thanks Laurent for your time.

I'm using the default one S4H_GLOBALCATALOG as a global catalog. Is it required to create a new one? It is unchecked "Don't show" and "OCI" (will be local one). I'm not logging message either.

Have a good day.

I think that my particular problem was related to my system version. I started to see the catalogs after implementing the SAP Note: 2772850 - Catalog not loaded in Create Purchase Requisition in 1809

Hello Agustin,

did you follow paragraph 2.3.2 of document "S4HANA_SSP_Config_CookbookV6.pdf" attached to OSS note 2214564 - Configuration guide for Self Service Procurement scenario in S/4HANA?

As usual, SAP tried to re-invent the wheel instead of using what is already existing (SRM UI Add-On):

- absolutely no sense to not have in ECC equivalent of SRM transaction USERS_GEN (to not have to create manually user's assignement to the Organizational Structure),

- no sense also to have mandatory attributes other than CATALOG (what is the use of that?),

- no possibility to filter out users access to catalog items available in the Cross-Catalog Search (missing attribute),

- what is the use of number range for catalog items (equivalent of temporary Shopping Cart in SRM UI Add-On?),

- i guess common currency is unique, this means with several countries (with different currencies) on your ECC system, you cannot use this customizing point and you will have to make enhancement,

- does the image extraction really work? Is it possible to store them on a Content Serve/ Web Server instead of the SAP server?

- does the master data extraction in delta mode really work?

Good luck Agustin...

Regards.

Laurent.

Dear Former Member,

it was very usefull. I have exactly this issue:

Issues : most of the time PPOMA structure is not defined properly and attributes are not flowing to table "USER_CATALOGS"

How can I check what is the problem?

- The employee was created with the following infotypes 0001, 0002, 0003, 0004 and 0105

- A new position was created in PPOMA, the position was assigned to an Org. Unit and a new BP was assigned as the holder (BP Role BU003) regarding the same employee created in the previous point

- The attribute CATALOG was updated in the Org. unit and correctly inherited but no luck; the attribute was not created into "USER_CATALOGS". Is there any check I could perform?

Many thanks

Hi eventually I was able to have the catalog available by updating the table USER_CATALOGS with my user account and the webservice id. However, I'd expect to have this table filled automatically by maintaining this in the PPOMA structure. I have followed the SSP cookbook, but we also see that the other attributes like purchasing group and default cost center is not derived from PPOMA. For now we have it working and we are able to use the supplier punchout catalog in the Purchase Requisition Fiori app.

Hi

Highly appreciate if you can share the web service class structure and PPOMA structure for this configuration!

Hi Jairaj,

Take a look at the Fiori app reference library.

https://fioriappslibrary.hana.ondemand.com/sap/fix/externalViewer/#/detail/Apps('F1643')/S7OP

You will find the note link. It has the attchment S4HANA_SSP_Config_CookbookV4.pdf.
