Changing Query View definition results in KF always being at the end

Hi All,

I have been tasked with changing a load of query views to add in a new key figure that has been added to several queries. But I have run into a slight problem. When I add in the new KF it always appears in F4 help and in the result set at the end of the row or column of where ever the key figures are. This is irrespective of where the KF is positioned in the structure.

Anyone know how I can change this without having to recreate all the query views?

I should point out that if I create a new query view the new KF is in the correct position as defined in the structure.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Craig

Hi,

I am not sure but also check the starting alphabet whetehr it is starting with Z and hence it is pushing it to end alphabetically. Try changing it and see whether position gets modified?

Thanks and regards

Hi Kiran,

It doesn't matter what technical naming convention is used, if I recreated the query view from the changed query the new key figure ends up in the right place. But obviously this is not what I want to end up doing, since we have a lot of query views that need adjusting to accommodate the new key figure.

Thanks

You will have to open the query view and adjust the position of the new KF using select filter value and overwrite the views.

Vineet,

The problem is I have tried this and I get the same result. The new key figure ends up at the end of the filter listing in F4 help screen and when selected ends up at the end of the key figures. It doesn't matter if you deselect all the other key figures and insert only the new one then start to add in the others.

It's almost as if the view definition retains the key figure structure from when it was saved and doesn't adjust itself if it has changed, merely shows any new elements at the bottom.

Cheers

Craig
