Issue printing labels on DYMO LabelWriter 450

Hello All,

We are facing a very tricky issue while printing lables using DYMO LableWrite 450 printer. We used the SAP standard form RM07ETIKETT, however, we had to change the layout to Lanscape as suggested by the user.

The issue is that label is printed starting from middle of the page. So we are losing almost 2 inches of space on top of the label. We set the window margin on top to 0 and tried printing the labels on a normal printer on A4 paper and it prints fine. A few days back we printed a sample label in portrait layout on the same lable printer and it printed fine. Now the same printer doesn't print the label properly in portrait format.

We identified a pattern during out testing though. When printed in Landscape format, the top side of the label lost space and when printed in Portrait, it loses space on the left side of the label. We checked with the end user and they say they could print other labels successfully, though they aren't from SAP.

Your inputs are much appreciated.

Thanks,

Anil

    Hi

Check with End user whether they are using Letter size paper or A4 size paper.

Since the A4 and Letter size differ then the label will not print properly.

    A4 is 210 × 297 mm

    Letter is 203.2 mm × 266.7 mm

      Hello guys,

I just noticed another thing related to the same issue.

When I do Printing Test on the forms it actually shows a gap in the print preview. For example, I go to SE71 and enter the form name RM07ETIKETT and then click on Utilities -> Printing Test and preview the result, thre is huge gap before /E ETIKETT is printed. Could this be due to the print program?

      Thanks,

      Anil

    Hi Anil,

We have a requirement to print lables on DYMP printers. Could you share some inputs on printing lables from DYMO labelwriter 450 Turbo ?

As there are drivers in SAP, how  was the printer set up in SAP ?

Also, did you have to use an external program to create label layout and then import it to SAPscript ?

    Thanks in advance!

      Hi Vimal,

Sorry i do not remember the printer set up details as it was a basis activity. But which printer are you using and also is it a smartform or a SAPscript ?

We had used a Zebra label printer finally and no external conversion program was needed.  Also we had a SAPscript for printing and it worked very well on both locl and network printers.

Also i remember once we had a problem with printing of barcodes on a locl printer with SAPscript, and then there was an SAP note which we had to implement! Wonder if you have a similar issue ?
