Process Chain help

hi gurus,

I am new to process chains. I am trying to load data from a flat file to ODS using process chain.Its a simple one.i followed the steps given sap.help...I am getting the following error

Job BI_PROCESS_LOADING could not be scheduled. Termination with returncode 8

How do i tackle this error....pls help

Hi Ravi Kiran,

You cannot load flat files from Workstations through process chains.

Load the file to the application server and give the pathe of this file in the infopackage and then you can load into BW objects through Process chains.

Hi Ravi,

OS Command is a process type provided in the process chain. They are OS Specific commands that let you manipulate say files in various directories.

For example, say the OS is Windows. We know that DOS command is recognized by Windows. You can perform copy operations from one directory to another using DOS commands of course.

Hi Ravi,

If you are familiar with OS command Process Type then you can use Process Chain for flatfile loads.
