Please check db2diag for possible causes. This error message just says "unexpected error". If on Windows check also your event log.

    Hi Nicola,

It seems the problem might be that this particular db2 instance is not updated properly or some of the db2 environment variables might be missing.

db2iupdt command may help you here. Try to run this command via root.

If you are on regular support for 'SAP on DB6' then you can adopt this practice to search for sql error for DB2, For e.g. error in your case gives following link

    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v9r5/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.db2.luw.messages.sql.doc%2Fdoc%2Fmsql01042c.html

However, I would highly recommend to upgrade your db2 filxPack level to the latest level atleast if it is not possible to upgrade the DB2 version from 9.1 to 9.7. Fix pack level is very low at present.

Moreover, we request you to paste us the errors from db2diag.log if any whenever you run db2start command.

    Thanks

    Hi,

on the servers are actually present in 2 DB2 instances,

    the memory setting is:

    32 GB paging

    10 GB Ram

The problem persists after stop other istnace DB2 only on the instace TST, after reboot all istnace start witout problem.

    the message:

'db2start : SQL1022C There is not enough memory available to process the command'

is system information (no error) on the windows event vierer

what do you recommend to increase the memory?

    thanks

10 GB total RAM is really low for these two instance on a single host. And after RAM distribution, a single instance gets very less memory.

Our advise is to add more RAM to the host and assign more memory (from that added RAM) to each host or so.

      Thanks

    Hi Database SAP,

how many GB of RAM recommended for 2 instances?

Paging file is currently 32 GB, I must increase?

The instances are of Develop and test.

    Thank you
