How can we check data in r3 with that of BI Report?

Hi All,

I have data in report.

I have to compare that data in the report with that of soure data(r3).

in the source when i got to rsa3 and give the data source i am able to see total number of records but no the data.

1)How can i see the data coming for spefic field or all the fileds which are data source?

2)For one field i am getting data for infoprovider but not in the report?

Hi,

It all depends on how many fields you have mapped in R/3 in BW system.

First check you can carry out in PSA itself whether data is correct.

Then you can check directly at report level in case there is any logic written in betwen data might defer.

You can also refer to some R/3 transactions to check data say MM01,VF01,FB5B etc depending on modules you are checking data. You can use RRI as well to jump from BW to R/3 .

Hi,

Are you trying to reconcile the data of BW with R/3 ?

if yes, then you need to use a Virtual info provider in your Multiprovider, you can design the query in such a way that it should have keyfigures ( for BW and R/3 ) which can be used to Reconcile/Compare.

you don't need to execute the report and comapre it manuallywith the data in RSA3.

Hi ,

The best way to reconcile data from R/3 and BW is to create a Reconciliation report. You can create a reconciliation report over a multiprovider created on the your existing infoprovider and a virtual cube(which is built directly on the data source and which fetches data directly from R/3).

Hi ,

Goto RSA1 Open DATA Source from left pane and double click on Data Source which you want to identify ...

On Right pane you will be getting your data source open with three tabs General Information, Extraction and field

Go to fields and see filed of data source... with help of Functional consultant you can identify which are used for which...

If you want to analyze which fileds are been mapped to data target .. Beneath of Data Source there is DATA FLOW UPWARDS , expand it upto transformation double click and check which field mapped to which info object...

Hi Naiduz,

There is one more way of comparing the data between BW and ECC system.That is through RFC function module. Following link explains about that :-

However if you know from which tables the data is being extracted from ECC system and what fields are being extracted with what logic ; you can download data from ECC system and match that data from BW report in and excel sheet by using VLOOKUP functionality of the MS EXCEL.

Once its shown number of records then click ALV / List which will show your the records...

To identify the this , please check the mapping of field in between Data Source and Target... then go to your target list the data...

If your report developed based on multi provider , and even you can see data in multiprovider , hard filter would be the issue ....
