Change unit of measure

Hi SAP MM gurus,

I am trying to change the base unit of measure of the part and got error says that PR,PO Sale order exists.

Third party order already created. I have deleted purchase requisition and Purchase order.

When I try to delete the third part order it gives me an error reference Po already exists even PO got deleted alreday.

Could you please help to resolve the issue. How to delete the sale order?

Hi,

You can change UOM only

1.No stocks are available for the material.

2.no existing PR,POs or scheduling agreements for the material. And material is not link to BOM .

If the SO was intial, then it was possible to change UOM in MMR.

sales orders have to be rejected.

However, SAP will keep complaining that the documents exist, because they exist (they only got a deletion indicator).

SAP allows a change of base unit only after you have archived all dependend documents.

Hi,

You cannot change the unit of measure for the material once any transaction is done using that unit.

It throws error as below.The base unit of measure cannot be changed; choose "Display errors"

Instead you can use alternate unit of measure if you want to have a new unit for that material by going to basic data view and select additional data and unit of measure.
