Hi Maili,
As you told that there was a recent upgrade, since then you process chain is failing with the SQL error 3114, where according to the definataion from Oracle..
"ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE "usually occurs when a call to Oracle is attempted & when no connection was established. Usually this happens because a user-written program has not logged on. It may happen if communication trouble causes a disconnection. In addition, this message could occur when ALTER SYSTEM KILL SESSION or ALTER SYSTEM DISCONNECT SESSION were issued with the IMMEDIATE qualifier because, in those cases, the client's connection to the database is terminated without waiting for the client to issue a request.
Please try again after some time. If the message recurs then check with the Basis person or you DBA if the proper connection to database is there?
Also as a check please ensure that you have made the necessary database settings as per SAP Note 1005758 and apply the patches if required. Also, ensure that you have enabled the required parameters as discussed in SAP Note 964858.
Hope this helps
Thanks
