Former Member

Hi,

we have installed trex and create an index with some documents from km to test the portal search (KM Search iView) like described here: http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Search/Creating+Indexes

But now, when I try to search something, there is always displayed the message "No matches"..

Can you please help me further?

Thanks and Regards,

Lydia

Hi,

please open the TREX-Monitor again and select "Change Queue Status".

You should see your index and probably with status "idle". Select it and press the button "Flush". Then go back to "Display Queues" and check the status.

Hi,

when I press flush the following error message appears:

Runtime Error

An exception occured while processing the request.

-

Additional information: null

Exception ID = a0a909a3-46c6-2e10-fea1-cd0052c98a9d

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

I think you have to check the log files, to hopefully get a more helpful error message.

So please press the flush-button again (to create a new entry => time stamp) and check the following files:

1. Portal

Something like: /usr/sap/<SID>/JC<NR>/j2ee/cluster/server<NR>/log/defaultTrace.<NR>.trc (the last updated one).

Search for the Exception ID.

2. TREX

Open the TREX admin under something like: /usr/sap/<SID>/TRX<NR>.

Check register card "Services" that all is green. Then go to register "Trace", sort by date and check the last log files/entries again.

2 other points, which are important in a Portal <-> TREX scenario:

1. URL Generator Service

Open System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Global Services -> Show Advanced Options -> URL Generator Service. The parameter "Host" should have a valid portal-adress.

2. If the TREX is installed on another machine than the portal, check if the TREX host can resolve/open the poral adress (open the portal through a web browser or do a ping <portal>).

Greetings,

Norman

Hello Lydia,

please check the TREX-Monitor under:

System Administration -> Monitoring -> Knowledge Management -> TREX-Monitor

Under "Server Status" you should see at least one green light for every category.

Under "Display Queues" you should see your created index and the already indexed number of files.

Best Regards,

Hello Norman,

i checked the TREX-Monitor and they are all green, the HTTP-, Name-, Index- and Queue-Server..

Under "Display Queues" the light is also green but the documents, which should be indexed stand under "to synchronize".

Also when I go to the datasource I have added to the index, there is displayed the name of the folder but no objects are indexed, there is displayed a zero..

Thanks and regards,

Lydia
