Hello,

while making goods issue to certain cost center, a message FN031 occurs - Business area & does not exist.

Cost center, plant masterdata is ok .

GI document has CORRECT value of business area.

question - what configuration activity can influence this message ?

Hi,

After activating the Business area financial statement in OB65, you have to make sure that all CO objects where a business area can be entered, have the correct one. These are for example the cost centers (ks03) and the orders (ko03).

As you may have known that for a company code the business area is ACTIVATED and thus it must be entered for goods issue, that is what you're experiencing.

This also means that If BA Balance Sheet is active, the business area is a required field in the cost center master. If it is inactive, it's optional but it's not forbidden to enter a business area. This is the normal logic and this has never changed.

Hope it may help you.

Hi Kuberk,

we activated the Business area financial statement (OB65) and that works fine for other company codes/ business areas.

We are making GI to certain cost center, which has correct business area in cost center master.

The problem is that while trying to save GI system says u2013 another (not from cost center master) business area does not exist.

Our case example is - cost center has business area L000 in its master, and GI says L201 doesn't exists. L201 really doesn't exist, and it shouldn't.

guys found the problem. After debugging it turned out that certain user exit syntax implies an obstacle.
