LC - BC - Delta Management - Transport

Hi,

We have successfully created & tested the append structure (delta management part) on standard business content data sources 2LIS_13_VDITM (billing line item information) & 2LIS_11_VAITM (sales order item level information) using ZZ* field method. This scenario is working perfectly fine in BW & R/3 development system.

Note:- currently, we have live sales billing info cube running on BW production system, based on data source 2LIS_13_VDITM.

but we don't have any infocube based on 2LIS_11_VAITM (sales order).

so what are the implication of changing in existing data source

a) w.r.to billing info cube, when data is already there in production system

b) w.r. to sales order info cube, when there is no corresponding information in production system.

Let me know what sort of steps should we take to transport the above data source (components) from development into production (live) system smoothly.

please help.

Rajiv,

Let me asnwer the simple question first.

Since your sales cube doesn't exist in Production system at all and 2LIS_11_VAITM is not used anywhere , This is a pretty staright forward scenario. You can simply follow the steps that you did in Dev system. (Fill setup tables, run init infopackage, setup delta infopackage etc)

When you are transporting BW infosources, make sure to include "replication" objects (Object Type ISFS, you can find object name for your InfoSource in TADIR table.

You already are using the datasource 2LIS_13_VDITM in the Production and loading the data into the Cube. Since you modified the datasource and transporting it, this nivalidates the delta.

You need to reconstruct your data for the InfoCubes that use tha above datasource.
