Hi All,
I am facing a strange issue while approving a Shopping cart request from UWL Inbox Preview.
I am getting an error " No link to the back-end system at the moment; inform system admin".
This error occurs only When i try to click on Approve button at the bottom of the UWL Inbox preview screen.
When i click on the work item, a new pop window opens showing the shopping cart and when i click on Approve button on this Pop up window it works fine.
Any suggestions on what is missing here?
Regards,
Ashish Shah
Hi Ashish,
The error 'No link to backend system ...' is thrown when the RFC
connection to the backend system is not possible.
Please first check your customizing settings at your SRM system:
Spro > Supplier Relationship Management > SRM Server >
Technical Basic Settings:
-Define RFC Destinations
-Assign RFC Destinations Dependent on Scenario
-ALE Settings (Logical System)
-Define Backend Systems
-Define Backend System for Product Category
If this does not resolve this then please try the following:
This error is thrown when the PPOMA settings are wrong. If you goto the
settings and make a check for the values, you get the respective error.
When the error is thrown as 'Error in the system. Shopping cart cannot..
the attribute for company code, plant is not been maintained for the
respective system from where the product category is selected. Kindly
check these settings in PPOMA_BBP and the errors should be resolved.
I would like you to read the following note which should help with the
customizing:
815849 FAQ: Account assignment system response
And kindly consider applying the following note if a HR system is
linked to the SRM system.

I hope this information helps you.
Kind Regards,
Edel.

Hi Edel,
I am using SRM7.0 version.
I checked at all these locations , configuration seems to be fine.
-Define RFC Destinations
-Assign RFC Destinations Dependent on Scenario
-ALE Settings (Logical System)
-Define Backend Systems
-Define Backend System for Product Category
Can you tell me what to look for in PPOMA_BBP transaction?
And like i said , i am only getting this error when i try to approve work item from UWL preview approve button.
You can see the error image at below link
