I have a large fixed width report of 414 characters wide.
When exporting as text to file the outputted file is empty apart from some LF CR (Line Feed Carriage Returns). This does not change even when changing the Characters Per Inch setting in the Export Options.
The lines are made up of one field which bring together many fields and pads the text with spaces so that all the 414 characters are used.
Initially I could not see the report fully on the screen as it was limited by the page sizes available to my workstation. To get around this I went to Devices and Printers (Windows 7) and selected Print Server Properties at the top and created a custom page of 11 by 200 inches. This was then selected in the Page Setup of the Crystal Report. I could then see the full report as well as the contents of the 414 characters.
I am not sure whether there is a limitation of Crystal Reports for exporting to text or it is to do with the page setup work around. I have not been about to sucessfully view and export this report to text even prior to the current work arounds.
I am running Crystal Reports: 18.104.22.1688 (Crystal 11 Release 2 Service Pack 6)
