Empty results set

Dear Experts,

My Query returned empty results when in fact there are records in the cube. Same user, created, loaded the cube and created that query on that cube. My id has full access in development.

Query used is a simple query with no restrictions.

I checked everything but could not understand why.

Other queries on other cubes are still able to return results.

Am I missing something or has someone encountered this before?

Pls can someone guide me? I am stuck.

regards,

Hi bworbust,

check if your request are available for reporting, then asks for your records by using the same criteria but directly in manage, display content into RSA1...

Dear Roberto,

Hi,

Does your query have any conditions?

Hi Bhanu,

No conditions, restrictions, exceptions. Just as plain as it can be.

I can see all the loaded data in the cube via manage / data browser, by request ID, etc. If I don't specify any selection, also all the records loaded are displayed on gui.

Bworbust,

this is the classic approach: create a new query to test if you obtain the same result...

Hello

Try to regenerate your query form RSRT. Sometimes help. It could be the code is corrupted.

Hi Mike,

Now, I defined the query using request Id and could finally show data. But its not all the records, only the sum of all the records.

Wait... I added soldtoparty, materials, plant to the rows and everything is shown now.

Why is it that the navigation items are shown in the report separated by a blank line?

bworbust.

"Why is it that the navigation items are shown in the report separated by a blank line?"

... This happens when you execute a query, then from the report go back and change the query and then re-execute it. If you close this workbook and rerun the query, the blank line will go away.

Dear Roberto,

I used your suggestion by using the request ID in the definition and it returned data! But when I take it out, nothing is shown even if there are chars in the rows and KFs in the columns. How can this be explained?

Seems like I have no choice but to use request ID as filter and everytime I upload new data, have to update the Request ID restriction/selection. But it would be quite strange to be doing like that.

Did you check if every request is available for reporting in your infoprovider ?

Did you try to do a new query (test), by adding object (char and KF) only once at time ?

Of course not...That's no solution Did you try creating an entirely new query like Roberto said...also did you try generating and running in RSRT?

Hi Roberto,

Test results:

Only KF defined -> no result set

Only KF + Req ID as Filter with 1 value -> 1 line showing the KF summarised value.

Only KF + Req ID as Filter with 1 value + a Char like Soldtoparty -> records shown ok.

Only KF + Req ID as Filter with 2nd value + a Char like Soldtoparty -> records shown ok.

Hi Bhanu,

I tried your method and regenerated and then added the request ID which produced the output. But when I take it out, no output.

Hi,

fyi, I loaded 4 times. Only the 1st time was 'Status not ok'. The 3 requests with no problem could be reported but only when they are specified in filter.

Do you get results when you include req ID, but do not supply any filter for it?

bworbust !

here is the problem !!!

you must have all your requests available for reporting in order to have the whole content inside your query !!!

Delete your wrong request and problem will be solved !

Before deletion of wrong request, if only the Req Id is used without filter, nothing showed.

The opposite is true after deletion.
