Extending Fiscal year from 12 month to 18 month

Hi,

Recently our company has announced extending Reporting year from 12 month to 18 month and they want to change our current reporting year which is october to september to April to March.

Thus in SAP we also want to extend our fiscal year from 12 to 18 month. Our leading ledger is oct to sep.

So please guide on the above issue.

Through some source they have suggested to close current fiscal year on sep 11 and create short fiscal variant for 6 month and after March again after closing change the variant for 12 month.

And for reporting through report painter 18 month reporting can be achieved.

Please suggest correct procedure for my requirement.

We have simillar need. Were you able to achieve this by changing your Fiscal Year Variant from 12 months to 18 months?

If you define another 6-month FY (shortened), I am not sure what fiscal year would that be. Instead, you can define 18 periods in your current FYV.

Please guide necessary changes to be done if i want to extend it for 18 month. Impact on Asset and any othe module.

What about my upcoming fiscal year closing.
