Instance RAM after IDES Ehp4 Installation (DB2)

Former Member

I installed the IDES system with the Instance RAM of 3000 MB. I feel now that I should have allotted more since I have 8GB of RAM on an i7 processor.

So my question is what should I increase it to? I am think of doing around 6000MB AND most importantly how do I do it?!

Please be simple and elaborate in your instructions as I am new to this. Thank you.

Hi,

Make sure both DB and SAP servers fit in 8G of RAM if you have installed them on a single machine.

Understand the SAP parameters and effects of adjusting them.

Refer to the following Notes.

Note 146289 - Parameter Recommendations for 64-Bit SAP Kernel

Note 146528 "Configuration of R/3 on hosts with much RAM"

Note 425207 "SAP memory management, current parameter ranges"

Goto RZ10 and Import profiles

Change the instance profile.

Hello,

Sorry for the late follow up but when I tried the RZ10 with Instance Profile (ID3_DVEBMGS06_IWDF7YT2) and Extended Maintenance wiht Version 1, I got this error:

Server iwdf7yt_ID3_06 is not active - action cannot be executed.

and trying with different clients (001 or 800) or users like DDIC or IDADMIN does not help. Any ideas?

Import your current profiles first using RZ10.

Hello,

RZ10 -> Choose Utilities -> Import profiles -> Of active servers.
