Problem with Reference Reports Repeating twice in CG50 transaction

Hi Gurus,

I am facing problem with reference reports repeating twice for same substance and same genaration varaint.

When i assign a real substance to a real group substance through CG50 transaction the reference reports are repeating twice in the real substance. before upgradation to ECC 6.0 the referenced substance displays only single report but now after upgradation the reference substance are repeating twice for same real group substance and bot the reports and data's are same.

Can anyone please help me to solve the issue..

we are using ECC 6.0 and we never found similar problems. We faced no similar problem in our upgrade project. Depending on the release you started: in ECC 5.0/6.0 there is a small "box" in selection screen of cg50/cg54. Only if you select this box you will "see" referenced reports.

Is there in cg54/cg50 the "reference" symbol per line (combination genvar/language)? How did you start the "referencing"?

Generally the correct approach is: you "enter" the specifications on report header regarding version 1.0 of the first report. Then by releasing 1.1 etc. the "references" are copied by the system (nice feature). Only if you later need to add further specs in the report header there is a "break" between former released version and the recent version of the report.

Which scenario do you use? substance master or Material master in cg50/cg54?

PS: I am not sure if there is really a mechanism available which "hinders" you to assign the same spec to two different report headers; therefore this "referencing" approach is "very" special in some sense

We upgrade SAP 4.7 to ECC 6.0 version.I already following as per your steps mentioned above to assign the reports. I created a report through CG02 transaction and released the report in CG50 transaction and that report is the First version for that generation variant for the real group substance ( i.e V1.0) and assign to a real substance. Before assigning to real substance i checked there was no released reports found for the generation variant for that particular real substance, then i open the real group substance and click on header in that i assign the real substance in the Assignment Specification Tab. After upgradation to ECC 6.0 the reference reports are repeating twice for the specification master view only not for other views in the real substance.

never heard about a similar problem. What is "surprising" to me: my assumption would be that the report is shown twice using "spec master" as well as "mat master" view. Do you have assigned the matmaster application object to the generation variant? In any case: suggestion: start OSS dialog. The report header solution is quite old in EH&S (now used for many years) therefore it is "surprising" to read that you encountered problems.

Thanks for replying me.

I found the answer why the reports are repeating twice. Its because of program error. The SAP has implemented one note 1548549-Multiple display of reports in the report tree, after implementing this note we got the correct reports for the specified substance without repeating for the substance.
