hierarchical planning

Former Member

hi gurus,

here we are planning the cost manually ( hierarchical cost planning) . the ammount which we enter for a WBS element is differing from the values of distributed value, distributable value, planned total values.

ex: for a WBS element if we enter as $2,000. under distributed tab it showing nothing, under distributable it is showing as $28.60 under planned total also it is showing $28.60

we want to get the same value which we enter as planned cost ( i.e $2,000 here)

i tried in configuration settings. but could not get.

can anyone please explain the process. suggest me to resolve the same.

Shekhar

Thanks & regards

Dear Shekar,

You need to understand what these columns mean.

Distributed plan value for the object selected and for the period displayed (IM, PS). The distributed value is the result of the plan values in the subordinate objects. In the cost planning of projects, the distributed value is the total of structure plan values, cost element plan values and unit costings in WBS elements directly subordinate to the one displayed.

Distributable plan value (IM, PS). The distributable value is the difference between the plan value and the distributed value.

Plan total is the annual or overall plan value including existing values from unit costing and cost element planning. In the cost planning of projects, the plan total also includes the plan total for all orders and networks assigned to the chosen WBS element and those subordinate to it.

Based on this you will be able to determine why the different values are being shown in those columns. Please note that this is standard SAP behavior and you will not find any configuration to change the values. In order to get the same value in planned column then ensure that only hierarchical planning is being used and no other (i.e. no unit costing as indicated in the bold text above, this can be verified by checking if any networks/activities are posting cost plan in version 0).
