Hi All,
Can anybody give me the steps involved in extracting data from a special ledger Zsummary table. Here is what i got, i have a summary table of Special ledger and it contains some data out there in the table. Now i need to get the data into a cube in BW.
Can somebody give the steps involved in creating a datasource and extract structure in the source system(R/3). I can replicate in Bw.. i'm comfortable in Bw but not on R/3. Any help is appreciated.
thanks in advance.
Mav.
Hi Mav,
Instead of creating a new data source on R/3 side, can't you download the data from your Zsummary(customized table) into a flat file and upload the same file in BW...

hey,
These are the steps for the entire process.....
1.Create a generic data source in rs02.(transaction data)
2.choose application component as fi and give the table/view name.(views are used if data is to be extracted from multiple tables)
3.go to bw side.
4.choose the respective application component(fi) and right click on it and choose replicate datasource.
5.then go ahead with creating info objects and cubes as per the structure in r/3.
lemme know if u come across any problems.
if it helps dun forget to give points.

Ragav

hi maverick,
basically you have to create a generic datasource - there's a document "How to Create Generic Delta" located here:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/how to create generic delta
just save the file as a .PDF and open with adobe acrobat reader. this should help you with your problem, but ask away if you feel that it's inadequate.
