Page not printing on Dot Matrix Printer

Dear Experts,

I had requirment to print the PO layout on a stationary which is bigger than a4 and bit lesser than a3

I found that page as 370(Width) and 295(hight). So according to it I created a new page format in SAP coz I didnt have any page format near to it. For setting up the new page format I did these steps:

1) Page Format

2) Format Types

3) Device Types.

All these are done. also I have attached my Z smartform in the NEU output type in NACE.

Now when I excute SF and try to print that its not getting triggering on the printer.

I have taken printer as LP01.

Please suggest. Where I am wrong.

Hi Soni,

1. Use code SPAD.

2. Create one Output device there say 'ZTEST'.

3. Assign EPESCP2 Device type in this output type which is widely used device type for dot matrix line printers.

4. when ZTEST Output device created then try to print your page by ZTEST inspite of LP01.

I hope this will solve your printing issue.

Hi Soni,

Did you assign the Output Type to the Printer. If not pls check your printer-> Printing Preference->Advance-> Paper Size, Its 'Letter' by default..... You need to select your customzed oytput type here inorder to print in that format.

Hope this will help you in resolving the issue...

Guys issue is resolved now.

Problem was:

The device type EPESCP2 was needed to give in output type say DOTMAT in the device attribute tab in SPAD.

EPSON dot matrix printers take their own device types mentioned in SAP (SPAD).

Thanks for all support.

Hi,

You need to assign the created page format to the device type used. Which device type is defined in output device LP01? Also if it is a device type with Line Printer Driver II, you also need to add the commands in the Printer Initialization action of the page format within the device type with commands to tell the printer the length of the page.

See the thread

Now my page size is 357 (W) and 300(H) and I am trying to print PO on this, issue is, its not printing to pages full width.

I have tried device types as of now:

Not getting what needs to be done for let this printer to print to its full. Printer model is EPSON LQ 1150 II.

Please suggest.

Hi,

If you print via a windows device type like SAPWIN and use a custom page format, there is no caommand sent from SAP to windows to select the paper size. The default page format of the printer at windows level is used. So you need to create the page format in windows and assign it as te default for this printer in windows. See SAP note 163136 for details.

Hi,

Did you assign the Device Type to LP01 in SPAD t.code?

did you got any printer selection pop up once the print button is pressed?

Dhina..
