FlatFile no data, still processing....

Former Member

Dear Gurus,

I am having an upload error I have no clue what is the cause. All records could be previewed, simulated and then I loaded via flatfile into infocube. All records went into the PSA, CommStructure without errors. Yet the status of the run was a yellow warning saying that

[Details Tab]

"Overall status: Missing messages or warnings"

"Extraction (messages): Errors occured"

" 3 records sent (3 records received)"

"Transfer (IDOCS & TRFC): Missing messages or warnings"

"Data Package 1: arrive in BW; processing : Data packet not yet processed"

[Status Tab]

Request still running

Diagnosis

No errors could be found. The current process has probably not finished yet.

System response

The ALE inbox of the SAP BW is identical to the ALE outbox of the source system

and/or

the maximum wait time for this request has not yet run out

and/or

the batch job in the source system has not yet ended.

Current status

Update

-

The master data matches the field values in the flatfile.

Everything seems ok to me, but there is no actual update except upto PSA.

Could you please advice what could be the cause?

Regards,

bworbust

Hi,

A lot of things could be the cause of this, often a short dump occurs without noticing anything in the monitor. Therefore you could check ST22 and SM21. Next to this it is also usefull to use the menu options in the monitor, to check for different kind of errors. (RFC, short dumps in source + BW, ...)

I'm pretty sure, checking all these things will help you further.

Please let us know if you have more detail,

Dear Tom,

Thanks for helping. No errors found in ST22 or SM21.

Is it possible to see from the system the cause?

I made a successful upload yesterday but to another cube.

I really no idea why the cube cannot be updated. Why is it inside PSA but not IC?

Hi,

The simple thing that can be done is try again. Some times there can be errors in the info IDocs.

make sure that you do not have your flatfile open and run the job again and let us know if the problem still exists. How many records do you have in the file? only 3? Then the load shouldn't take any time.

If there was an error, you can usually see it in ST22 (short dump) and SM21 (system log), as was mentioned.

Good Luck

I retried many times.No luck.

Due to time constraint, could u suggest a way to manually enter the transaction data ?

I only have 3 records I need to enter the cube at the moment. We need it for query development purpose.

I would hope to enter these first and then debug the problem later. Pls advice. Thanks.

If your data is in the PSA, did you try manual update?

Yes, all data went into PSA without any errors, simulation no errors, update not done. No message as to what is the cause.

So, there it is impossible to manually insert transaction data? Why is it master data can be inserted directly? SID?

Pls could u list the necessary steps?

Update data manually from PSA to Cube.

Hi bworbust,

From your message...it seems like there is some problem with Idocs processing..

What you can do is process the Idocs ..through the transaction code..BD87..

Goto BD87..enter the date on which you scheduled the load..choose the Idocs which are yet to be in processed state,.,and Press Process button..

Hope this will surely let you out of your problem..

Dear Experts,

With all your help ,

Problem solved! Thank you!

Pls can it be confirmed that creating transaction records by manually typing in the data is not possible due to SID. thanks.

bworbust.

Hi,

You could either roll the data from PSA -> Cube manually. You can also go to the "Details" tab in the monitor and click on the data packet and select "Process manually".

Hi bworbust

Are you getting any red error messages in the details tab of the monitor. There is normally more detailed messages in there.

Also when you do a preview/simulate, increase the number of preview lines to the same number as the flat file and do the simulation all the way to the InfoCube.

Hope that helps.

Thanks
