Hello,
I am looking for restrict the access to the Collaboration Rooms functionnalities. What I need is more roles than the 3 initial. For example :
User A can write in discussions but can only read documents
User B can write documents but cannot participate to discussions.
Is it possible to create some specific roles without creating specific iViews and pages ?
If not do you know if it is possible to integrate a forum (like jive for example) in a collaboration room ?
Thanks
Thomas
Hi there,
I had the same question (or to be more precise the second sub-question) about 5 months ago and this is what I found out.
It is possible to integrate jive forum with your portal and/or with cRooms. However you would need to extend the in-built authentication method of the jiveforum (http://www.jivesoftware.com/products/forums/) and integrate it with the portal UME. You can find more specific information if you download the trial version of the forum. Installation on SAP J2EE using deployment tool is pretty much straightforward.
The next step you would probably need to do is to instantiate new forum each time the new cRoom is created. I am not 100% sure but believe that this is also no-prob what concerns the API provided by jive & new developments in cRooms API (extention points, etc).
To answer the first part of the question, it is possible to influence using the ACL model of the KM platform. I even think you can manage this with a mouse (: Just set the corresponding permission on KM directory where the documents are located.

ds
