Dear Gurus,
I am trying to do MIRO, where in I got the subject error. This error comes up only if I reduce the amount of MIRO than of the amount of PO. If I increase I do not get an error.
I read many documents on SDN, it said that you need to activate the -ve postings allowed for Depreciation areas.
I have a question here, I used to have -ve postings earlier also with credit memos, why this time the error got generated ?
Early help would really be appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,
Nirav Shah
Hello, If this is a AUC asset, you can have negative values. AUC is like a cost bucket, which accepts negative values and positive. You can allow/actiavte the negative values (XNEGA) feild in the depreciation areas. This would allow the values to flow through. By allowing -ve values in the asset you would not have a -ve NBV as this is controlled in the IMG. Do not make changes in OADB to have "ALL VALUES ALLOWED". THIS IS A WRONG CONFIG. I agree with Bernhard.

Dear Nirav,
Adding more if you want suffice error for all assets at depreciation area please go to OADB for derpreciation area 01 select All values allowed if front of Acquisition Value option. This setting will enable all values allow for posting in depreciation area and you won't face the same error in future for all assets whenever you are dealing with Credit Memo or negative value transaction posting.
I hope this will help you to solve your issue, if you have any doubts feel free to share - you are welcome !
Reagards,
Pankaj A Bhalerao.
Have a nice day ahead !

Dear Nirav,
The reason for the error is cause due to the sequence of the values to be posted in the asset. Credit memo is a negative posting, and this causes a negative sequence, and this is the technical reason for the AA617.
Therefore you to allow negative values:
Tr AS02
-> choose depr. area
-> checkbox "Negative values"
In case the flag for negative values is grayed out:
Tr. Ao21 (Screen layout)
-> Field group 17
-> please check screen layout and maint. level
kind regards
Bernhard
