Deploying Crystal Reports for VS2010 on Windows Server 2011 x64

Hi,

We are new to VS2010 and Crystal Reports for VS2010. We have upgraded from VS2003 and Crystal Reports 10.5.

We have a small App that produces crystal report sales figures for our clients and we are trying to distribute this to one of our newest clients. They are using Windows Server 2011 (64 bit operating system).

I have compiled our app as a x86 application and installed the CRRuntime_64bit_13_0_1 on the server.

The app works fine on my Windows 7 32 bit machine.

When we try and run the app on the client server it stops with CLR20r3 event error and will not progress. (System.invalidoperationException).

I saw a post about the version of the .net framework having to be full version 4 but i tried to install this on the server and it says its already installed. even though in control panel its showing .net framework 4 client profile and extended.

Does anybody know the correct way to deploy VS2010 crystal reports on this platform as we have another user that will be requiring this very soon.

Hope you can help.

Russell.

Well, you need the full framework to begin with. Not being able to install the full framework 4.0 is not a CR issue so I'd recommend contacting MS.

Looking at [this|http://www.nirmaltv.com/2010/06/05/download-net-framework-4-full-installer/] MS article, I wonder if the full framework is supported on WIN 2011:

.NET Framework version 4 is supported on Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 R2; Windows Server 2003 SP2; Windows Server 2008 R2; Windows Server 2008 SP2; Windows Vista SP 2; Windows XP SP3, Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Vista SP1 or later.

Also, note that WIN 2011 is not in the supported platforms for CRVS2010:

But like I said, check with MS re. framework 4.0 on WIN 2011, then see if CR will work ocne this is installed. If not...
