Hi, Please help me with this scenario. I have added new component in a BOM with valid from date a week ago and performing CK11n today but it is not showing new component in it. Why? I have maintained new component as altitem group and specified priority as well as probability but still it is showing first item from altitem group in CK11N, where am I missing the settings of new component. Costing 2 view is maintained correctly for both components from altitem group.
Dear Sprint,
If my understanding is correct .then for the alternative items the system takes all the alternative item's cost into account.
Say For Example in the BOM of A, components B and C are combined into an alterntaive item group and asume the quantity is
mentioned as 10 EA for these items and the priority, strategy, usage probability is also set.Assume usage probability is
mentioned as 50% for both these items. and the unit price of B is Rs 5 and unit price of C is Rs 10,
Now during costing the system takes 5 quantity of B = 55 = Rs 25, 5 quantity of C = 105 = Rs 50 as the components price.
If this is not coming in this way means check whether the component's value is going below 3 decimal places or in case if you
are using change numbers with release key for BOM changes emans, check whether the release key has been set in the
change number.
Check and revert back.

Thanks for your explanation, I have maintained all details in Altitem group such as priority, strategy (tried with blank also), probability..but still it is picking first item only even if I maintain 100% probability for second component..is this Altitem concept works for costing or not? if so is there any other reasons where I am missing something. Please share your thoughts.
The alternate item concept is used in operational part, not in costing context.
If you wish to do that, then you will need to create 2 different alternatives of the BOM & then do costing. For complete detail on how to proceed on this, get in touch with your costing personnel or CO consultant, who will provide the detail steps to follow. Alternatively you can do a search in this or FI / CO forums to get more info.
