Time out for SPM

Hi Guru:

When I run SPM report, I received a time out message.

I already set the timeout parameter on administration->Analysis Administration->Application properties to 6000, however it seems it will timeout in about 10 minutes.

Any idea about how to resolve it?

Hi Eric,

What are the timeout settings on the java side? These settings only affect the UI. If your settings on the java stack or app server side are less than these, then your timeout will be defined by those.

Now I feel the issue is, it seems the portal does not 'know' the user is clicking in SPM flash UI, it time out itself after a certain time.

Is this a typical problem of SPM UI or we need to do something at the portal side to fix that?

Hi Eric,

It's possible to interact with the interface without hitting the portal/app server/data base. This is because a lot of the interface is cached.

When you say it times out, are you actually running reports that are bringing back data, or are you just accessing menus etc?
