Export datasource

Hi,

I need to load data from infocube A to infocube B,

first I genertae the export datasource from infocube A, then assign the geenrated datasource to infocube B, then create the update rule for infocube B by using the infocube A as the infocube datasource, when I tried to create the infopackage under the data mart, I can not find the infocube B under the datatarget tab. which step I did wrong?

    Go to setting> display generated objects.

    Check update rules for the cube B. There is definitely something wrong with them.

    Hi JW,

    check the setting of your cube B, if it is a transactional cube you will not be able to load data to it and you will not see it in the datatarget tab in your infopackage.

    Hi JW,

    When you create the Update rules for Infocube A , mention the infosource which in your case would be 8<Infocube A>. Activate the update rules. Then you would find the Data Targets mentioned in the info-package.

    The update rule for infocube B is OK and active,and it is in the load mode,all the datasource and infosouce for B is start with 8,but still can not see infocube B at the data target tab which mean that I can not load it with the data from infocube A.

    I did another test, I create another update rule by using the infosource datasource( this datasource was use to load infocube A), when I get to the infopackage I can see the infocube B under the data target tab.

      Hi JW,

      In the case you described you will certainly see the cube B because your infosource is feeding both cubes, A and B.

      But what you wrote in the first message was completely different! Correct me if I'm wrong - After creation the cube B and update rules for it based on the cube A as a datasource you went to Infosource tab and in the Datamarts found Infousource 8<cube A> and underneath - your Myself source system. When you created infopackage from this source system you couldn't see the cube B in the data target tab. Is it the right sequence?

    Hi Eugene,

    Yes, you are right,since I am use BW3.5, when I tried to create the infopackege to load data for infocube B through infosource tab under data mart, I can see the 8* datasource and tranfer structure, but after I create the infopackge, when I go to data target tab, I can not see the infocube B.
