Exchange rate diferences

Hi,

I performed "Exchange rate diferences" (local currency=NIS, system currency=USD).

As a result this action effect not only the the local currency (NIS), but also the operation currency ($).

Shouldn't this action effect only the local currency?

For example:

In account 1601, the translation JE preform the following:

Before the ERT Account 1601 (before): NIS 241,077.81 ("A")

Account 1601 (before): $ 63,315.84 ("B")

FX rate as of December 31 2009 3.775 ("FX") - the Exchange rate.

The ERT Journal Entry:

In NIS: (B -(A/FX))*FX=- 2,060.51

In USD: B- (A/FX)= - 545.83

After the ERT:

Account 1601 (after): NIS 239,017

Account 1601 (after): $ 62,770

regards,

Avi

Hi Avi,

system behaviour was changed in a lower version, please see SAP note 941059.

To manually adjust the system currency, please use a manual JE. In the form settings you can prevent the amount being converted into LC. The journal will carry SC only & a zero value for both debit & credit in LC. Please see SAP Note 909074.

All the best,

Kerstin

Hi Richard,

Can you please give an example for the JE that i need to add in order to fix the balance, as you suggest?

I don't realy understand how should this JE look like.

Thanks in advanced,

Hi Avi,

Yes, there will be a corresponding entry in your System currency as your system currency always mirrors your local. This happens if the currency of your account is same as your system currency and you want to process exchange rate diff to recognize unrealized gains or losses. What you can do though is to manually create a reversal just for the system currency by pulling up the same entry and duplicate it and delete the entry in your local currency and reverse the one in your system currency. then you need to reverse the local currency only some time in the future.

Thanks,
