HANA is it an alternative for BW ????

Hi Chaps Surprisingly i got question in my mind after come across with HANA updates in Sdn.. Of course yet to be clear few more. Is it an alternative for BW??? Or its an add on which replaces BWA and DB?? I mean to say to get the data from source directly by maintain relation similar to our RDA..? Is it the root like R/3 -> HANA -> BO or is it like R/3 -> BW ->HANA-->BO ??? which is the right path in case of historical data ..
