Hi Experts,

I have created an index for indexing one of the KM folder . When I check the queue status from TREX monitor screen, it shows Document Status as "Preparation

Failed"

Return Message : 8005

Return Message : Timeout reached

Return Message : 8006

Return Message : Lost Connection to peer

I have also checked Component Monitor in that Repository Managers and Services shows runing status but there is errror symbol with yellow trangle.

Can someone please help me out

Hello,

When you see an error icon in the Component Monitor then you should expand that node to see the actual error. If your error is on Services then the most common one here is if you have not assigned your scheduler tasks to a CM system, in particular the Index Management Task Queue Reader would be important in relation to your indexing. For more help have a look at this wiki:

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/KMC/TroubleshootingKMIndexingandCrawler+issues

See also note 798633 mentioned in the above wiki.

If you are getting some other error under Services then let us know.

Lorcan.

Hello Sir,

I have checked service user i.e. index_service it has read access.

I have checked the document whcih is indexed, from Details > View > Index Information of the actual document whcih has

Status 'OK: index operation'.

I have checked Index Monitoring where Crawler Monitor has no errors but TREX Monitor shows error "Preparation Failed" with return code 8006 adn 8005.

Hello,

You said there was errors under services in your component monitor, so what were these errors? Did you expand the node as per my last reply to see what the actual error was? If the error was regarding your scheduler tasks then you need to follow the section on this from the wiki page:

"In a clustered system the Index Management Task Queue Reader scheduler task needs to be assigned to ONE specific server node or CM System. If it is assigned to more than one CM system it can also fail. You should also check in this scenario that the cluster flag is set in the 'System Landscape service'. The Index Management Task Queue Reader scheduler task is available under System Admin > Sys Config > KM > CM > Global Services > Scheduler Tasks. See also SAP note 798633. "

Yes Sir,

There are errors in component monitor and i have expanaded the node ands checked the errors that are as follows,

Component Monitor --> Services --> scheduler --> attachmentscheduler startup failed :

Configuration Error: No CM system assigned to this task

Component Monitor --> Services > reporting> Startup Error: exception in startup: Invalid RID: No repository manager found for prefix: /reporting

Component Monitor --> Repository Managers > reporting> startup failed

Component Monitor --> Repository Managers >taxonomy> Startup Error: taxonomy manager: start failed

We had assigned one server node to Scheduler Tasks.

Still there is same error.
