How to handle FTPied files in XI?

In our current R/3 set up, we get files(FTP-ied) and an event is trigered to process.

If we are to move to XI, how this can be handled?

I think it is through BPM? but not sure about the steps.

I appreciate your solution.

    Hi Felix,

    Step 1. File Adapter will process files into XI

    Step 2. Perform any mapping in XI

    Step 3. IDOC/RFC/ABAP Proxy will be used to process into

    R/3

    What processing is done on the R/3 side ? It is IDOCs / RFC / Custom processing ? This will affect the destination XI adapter to use.

    You do not need to use BPM for this simple process based on what you have said.
