Formula in BOM- PP-PI

Hi Experts,

I am using PP-PI for one of my client. The requirement is they produce SFG in MT (metric ton)& to produce FG they charge the same SFG in KL (kilo Liter). Conversion of MT to KL based upon the Gravity factor, some time 1MT= .980 KL & some time 1MT= 1.08 KL due to change in sp gravity of SFG produced.

If the relation between 2 unit id fixed , i can mapp through alternate unit of measurement but it is changing batch by batch for SFG produced.

Client demands that there should be some formula where he can put sp gravity & conversion of MT to KL will be based up on that value of sp gravity.

How to mapp this requirement, please suggest.

I assume that you maintain your specific gravity in batch master of each SFG. You may want to explore the Material Quantity Calculation (MQC) functionality.

Basically, what this do is to calculate the BOM quantity based on certain characteristics (batch class/characteristics). It allows to do simple calculation. It is making sense only if you do batch determination in process order (otherwise, it will take static conversion - planned factor from material master).
