Hello. Does anyone know where to find the download of webas 6.4? It says it is in general release but I cannot find it anywhere. This link points to an internal intranet at SAP.

Peter,

the link you gave is not the "internal intranet" at SAP but the SAP Service Marketplace. This is a closed community available for all SAP customers. If you are an SAP customer (or have attended an SAP training), you should own an S-user ID that entitles you to log on to service.sap.com.

Web AS 6.40 is in general release (the term is "released for customer"), this information is clearly given on the web page you mentioned. The usual way to get the software is

- order the DVDs from SAP

or

- download the software from service.sap.com/swdc (that is: Software Download Center)

You SAP basis administrator should be able to show you the way.

btw: If you are just looking for a J2EE Engine 6.40 (plus possibly the portal software), you will find trial versions here on SDN.

Dominik

Hi Dominik,

I am a customer of SAP with an S-user account. I have searched extensivly the link that you have attached and there is no download for WEBAS 6.4

I also understand that the link I provided goes to an internal SAP location however I do not think that the link should be there for me to see or click on service marketplace for customers and vendors.

Do you have an exact location?

Peter,

why shouldn't the link be available to customers? It points to a public web server (one of the service marketplace systems) and gives information on platform availablility.

Regarding your download issue:

go to service.sap.com/swdc

Then, on the left hand side you will find some sort of "detailed navigation". Choose the path

Download --> Installations and Upgrades --> Entry by Application Group --> SAP NetWeaver --> SAP NetWeaver --> SAP NetWeaver 04 --> Installation and Upgrade --> <your hardware> --> <your database software>

Then pick the components you need for your installation (depending on what you like to install: Pure ABAP basis system, pure Java basis system, Java+ABAP system, portal, BW, XI ...)

You will find detailed information about the required components in the relevant installation and master guides. When you drill down the navigaion path I gave you above, some links will show up for downloading these guides.

Regards,

Dominik
