Hi All,
I would like to take a backup copy of an appset in BPC 7.5 MS version, I know this is possible in BPC 7.5 NW version.
But how can I do in MS Platform ?
Is there a document or step by step guide on this.
I'm at 7.5.104 Level
Please notify
Thanks a lot
Zan
Hi,
You need to login to the BPC server manager in the server machine. Click on the Appset Menu and you will get the option for backup or restore. You can select the desired appsets, there.
Hope this helps.

I can't do in the evening because there are other users around the world that could use bpc.
Do I would like to know id I do the backup using Planning and Consolidation Server Manager, the application will be switch off or I can continue to use? Doesn't matter that the backup is not perfect
thanks
regards
Michele
Hi Michele,
to do the normal backup of the DB set the DB in full mode, can be scheduled every "x" hours a differential backup, this doesn't need to stop BPC, on the w.e. it's better to do a full backup, to reduce the time of a restore if it's necessary more then one week back.
If you need to backup all the bpc environment then you should use BPC backup from server manager but in this case you should stop BPC or you risk in case of restore to have a damaged and unuseful backup.
If you can't stop the users then you should do it on the w.e.
Kind regards
Roberto
I have this doubt because I look after BPC but the person that look after SQL never asked me to put bpc off-line
I know that there is a daily SQL backup and a weekly full SQL backup but there is the possibility that at the night or at the weekend somebody is working because we have users around the world
So What I have to do? I have to check that he is switching off the sql server when he does the backup?
thanks
Nilanjan,
