How to create users or email ids in MS Exchange 2010 using SAP IDM 7.2

Dear Folk,

Hope you are doing good.

I am a newbie to SAP IDM and using 7.2 version. I have recently successfully installed it and by using standard guides I have successfully:

1. Completed Initial Configuration
2. Connected to MS AD and created users as per tutorial
3. Pulled telephone list as per tutorial.

I now know a bit of its basics. May anybody please let me know how I can get users/email ids created in MS Exchange server 2010?

I followed a document on SDN and successfully imported the CreateuserforExchange2010.mcc. However, I am a bit struggling to get a starting point from here to proceed.

Please help me create users/email ids on Exchange Server 2010.

Do you mean that i should write a VBScript and attach it to the respective pass in the job?

Faisal,

Actually, you will need to create a Shell Execute Pass which then calls the Powershell. My advice would be to learn about Shell Execute and then speak to one of your Exchange / PowerShell admins.

If I want to execute my script, then I think I should follow what you suggest.

I also noticed one pass called 'CreateUserinExchange' (dont remember exact text of this) in the standard RDS and I believe some scripts are attached to it (can't confirm as system is not if front of me now). I believe this will also create user in exchange server. Any idea about this?

Not really been a fan of the RDS, so I can't tell you too much about it.

Not sure, it's been quite some time for me. However I seem to remember that everything revolves around the powershell script. You might want to take a look at my post on idm-thoughtplace.

Yes, I have already gone through this document and imported the create the 'CreateExchange2010User' file as directed. However, it is not shown how to use it later and create users in Exchange Server. Did it miss anything here?

I have already gone through the documentation on SDN Wiki and could successfully create users in AD using the tutorial files. However, I am still to get how a record is created in Exchange 2010. How email ids are generated and on what basis/logic. Where this logic comes from? Do I have to write this logic in custom script? If yes, how do I do it?

Or, I simply need to configure IDM and it will take care of email id creation in Exchange 2010?

Have you reviewed the documentation? There should be a document and a sample file I believe.
